Ringmetall SE has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of Rapak, LLC, headquartered in Woodridge, Illinois, USA. The transaction is expected to close on November 2, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition will be funded through existing cash resources and available credit facilities. Rapak manufactures flexible bag-in-box packaging for liquid food products, beverages and industrial liquids at its production facilities in Woodridge and Indianapolis, Indiana. The company also supplies filling equipment for bag-in-box applications. According to Ringmetall, Rapak employs approximately 50 people and generates annual revenue of around US$20 million. The acquisition will broaden Ringmetall's North American liner business by adding bag-in-box packaging systems and filling technology to its portfolio. Ringmetall expects the transaction to position the group as the world's fourth-largest manufacturer of bag-in-box systems. The company also anticipates synergies from the acquisition, although it has not disclosed their expected scale or the potential earnings contribution. The transaction would be Ringmetall's fourth acquisition in 2026. Earlier this year, the group acquired Turkish liner manufacturer Makplast and the thermoforming operations of New England Plastics in the United States. Ringmetall also secured a majority stake in a South African bag-in-box business, into which Vinbag's operating activities were transferred. The group intends to integrate Rapak into its operations shortly after closing. More information: |
