Plastics recycler bage plastics is expanding its plant in Großschirma, Saxony, into the central recycling facility of the company group. bage plastics Deutschland GmbH is investing in additional sorting and separation technology, increasing the plant’s annual processing capacity by approximately 25 percent to 30,000 tonnes. In future, plastic fractions from end-of-life refrigerators and small electrical appliances will be processed together at the Großschirma facility. The plant will produce high-purity recyclates of polystyrene (PS), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and polypropylene (PP). To achieve this, existing density separation, electrostatic separation and near-infrared (NIR) sorting processes will be consolidated at the site and supplemented with additional equipment. As part of the restructuring, the company will relocate the processing of plastics from end-of-life refrigerators from its plant in Wolfern, Upper Austria, to Großschirma by the end of 2026. The company’s headquarters, as well as its compounding and logistics operations, will remain in St. Marien, Upper Austria. Founded in 2014, bage plastics specialises in recycling plastics from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). In addition to PS, ABS and PP recyclates, its product portfolio includes PC/ABS recyclates and compounds for injection moulding and extrusion applications. The company is a member of the European industry association Plastics Recyclers Europe. More information: bage-plastics.com |
