Ultrapolymers: PCR Compounds Based on PE, PP, ABS and HIPS Added to Portfolio

Ultrapolymers Deutschland GmbH has expanded its portfolio with compounds from Ravago's "Ravapura" brand. The materials contain certified proportions of post-use and post-consumer recyclates (PCR). The range includes grades based on polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and high-impact polystyrene (HIPS). Target applications include packaging, consumer goods and technical components.

The PE compounds are based on low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). According to the supplier, they offer consistent processability and stable mechanical properties. The materials are available in various colours and can also be coloured by processors.

Ultrapolymers states that the grades comply with the requirements of RoHS, REACH and ISO 14021:2016. Intended applications include flexible primary packaging for non-food products as well as secondary and tertiary packaging, including shrink films, stand-up pouches and foams.

PP-based grades are intended for applications including household products and white goods. ABS compounds target applications in electrical appliances and interior fittings, while HIPS compounds are designed for household goods and electrical applications. For requirements that cannot be met by standard grades, Ultrapolymers works with Ravago to develop customised formulations.
