Distrupol: British plastics distributor expands in Europe

The British plastics distributor Distrupol is continuing to expand in Europe. In a press release, the company announced the opening of new sales offices and warehouse capacities in Germany, France, Spain and Italy from 1 January 2024.

According to information on the company's website, the German subsidiary is based in Stuttgart. In France, Spain and Italy, Distrupol will operate from Perpignan, Barcelona and Florence. However, no further details of the company's involvement in the new markets were provided.

Distrupol manager James Stanton explained in the press release: "Expanding across the EMEA region is an incredible achievement for Distrupol and one that we are very excited to take on. We have signed distribution agreements with a number of key supply partners to offer designers and manufacturers a complete portfolio of polyamides, acetal, polyethylene, polypropylene, acrylic, ABS, polycarbonate, additives, compounds and masterbatches."

Distrupol, which is based in Chertsey near London, recently strengthened its position in northern Europe in particular with the acquisition of the Finnish industry company Baritec (2022), which is also active in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. In addition to the UK, the company has also been present in Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Egypt for some time. A subsidiary was also founded in the USA this year.

According to Distrupol, its portfolio comprises more than 4,000 plastics. The company's supply partners include Celanese, Delrin, Ineos, Hexpol, LG Chem, BASF and Toray.

Distrupol has been controlled by the New York-based investment group One Rock Capital Partners via the holding company GPD Companies since 2021.
