The "Nature-Compounds" product range from FKuR Kunststoff GmbH (www.fkur.de) has been extended with the new Bio-Flex 467F product, an universally usable, biologically decomposable granulate for use in production of film. The advantages of the new formulation lie in the good properties in the film application, as well as ease of processing on conventional polyethylene blown film lines, without having to make extensive adjustments to the screws, nozzles or haul-offs. FKuR Kunststoff GmbH has so far offered two different product groups in the market: Biograde grades for injection moulding applications and Bio-Flex grades for film applications. The new Bio-Flex 467F grade is characterised by its high mechanical strength while simultaneously having good elongation properties. The values achieved are entirely comparable with those of HDPE. Furthermore, Bio-Flex 467F enables film to be produced with a silky matte surface and high transparency. As a result, a film in Bio-Flex 467F is also suitable for design of fine packaging. The proportion of sustainable raw material amounts to over 30%. Suitability of Bio-Flex 467F for direct food contact has been confirmed by a statement issued by an independent test institute of its being harmless. Tests to confirm compostability according to DIN EN 13432 will be concluded at the beginning of 2006. |
