DuPont Engineering Polymers (www.dupont.com) announces price increases for its thermoplastic resins in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), to be effective on July 15 or as contracts allow. The increases are based on unprecedented escalation of raw materials, energy, transportation and logistics costs and are in addition to the increases announced in April for implementation on May 15, 2008. The price of DuPont™ Delrin® acetal resin will increase by 0.20 Euro/kg. The price of DuPont™ Crastin® PBT and DuPont™ Rynite® PET thermoplastic polyester resins, DuPont™ Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomers, DuPont™ ETPV engineering thermoplastic vulcanizates, DuPont™ Thermx® PCT, DuPont™ Zenite® LCP, DuPont™ Zytel® polyamide resins, DuPont™ Minlon® polyamide 6 and 66 and DuPont™ Zytel® HTN high-performance polyamide will increase by 0.30 Euro/kg. Specialty grades and colours in all thermoplastic product families may increase by a larger amount. DuPont strives continuously to offset escalating costs with productivity programs and other containment measures. However, the magnitude of the raw materials, transportation and energy costs increases makes these price increases inevitable. |
