Gabriel-Chemie: Capacity expansion at European sites

Gabriel-Chemie Group (www.gabriel-chemie.com) expands the capacities for the production of colour and additive masterbatches at the European sites.

Production capacity at the main works in Gumpoldskirchen/Austria has been increased by 2,000 tons p.a. with six new extruders. This is also associated with an increase in staffing levels in the technical departments as well as the expansion of the sales team. Using the new production lines, new products will also be manufactured in future, such as additional additives for PET processing and bio degradable masterbatches on a PLA basis.

Expansion in Russia and Eastern Europe
The factory in Russia, which only opened in 2007, will receive two additional machines for the production of colour masterbatches and will also be able to manufacture white and additive masterbatches in future using the new extruders. It has therefore been possible to increase production capacities by 1,000 tons p.a. year, double the planned expectations. A new sales office has been established in St Petersburg and a production site, also in St Petersburg, is currently at the planning stage. The sales team has been expanded in order to be able to provide better coverage of the Moscow and St Petersburg regions as well as the territories around the Volga, the Urals and Siberia.

A new production line for the manufacture of colour and additive masterbatches has been installed in each of the works in Hungary and the Czech Republic, hence increasing capacities by up to 25 %, depending on the site.
