Coveris: Packaging group takes over Hadepol Flexo

The Coveris packaging group continues to expand in Eastern Central Europe.

In a press release in mid-April, the Group announced the takeover of the Polish sector company Hadepol Flexo. The financial volume and further details of this transaction were not initially disclosed. However, the takeover is expected to be finalised as early as May, subject to approval by the relevant regulatory authorities.

Hadepol Flexo produces flexible packaging for bakeries and supermarkets. The company mainly processes paper and various plastic films (including PP, BoPP, LDPE, HDPE and PET). Founded in 1994, the company has two production plants in Rypin near Toruń and primarily supplies customers in Poland.

Coveris CEO Christian Kolarik explained in the latest press release: "I am delighted that we are able to continue to consistently pursue our growth strategy despite the turbulent times in the industry as a whole. Coveris had already strengthened its position in Eastern Central Europe in recent months with several acquisitions, most recently in February with the purchase of Czech label manufacturer S&K Label.

Coveris is headquartered in Vienna and has 30 production sites in Austria, Germany, France, the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Egypt with a total of around 4,100 employees. According to its own information, the company is one of the leading manufacturers of flexible packaging solutions for medical products, food, pet food, care products and other products. Annual turnover recently totalled around 1 billion euros.
