ICM: Swiss Cowbell Award 2010 to the „Father of the European WEEE Directive”

Swiss congress organiser ICM AG will stage its 9th International Electronics Recycling Congress (IERC 2010) from 20-22 January 2010 in the Salzburg Congress Center in Austria. 400 delegates from industry, authorities, academia and NGOs will be present to discuss the latest information and challenges of the electronics scrap recycling business.

This year the Steering Committee of the IERC 2010 nominates the Cowbell Award to Karl-Heinz Florenz (Photo), the „Father of the European WEEE Directive”.

He will receive the award in recognition of his outstanding commitment, leadership and fight for a sustainable world, which has resulted in the creation of the most important regulation regarding electronics waste recycling on the European continent.
