Amaneos: Acquisition of Magna’s European Automotive Lighting Business

Mutares portfolio company Amaneos has completed the acquisition of Magna’s European automotive lighting business. The acquired operations will be integrated into Amaneos subsidiary Light Mobility Solutions GmbH (LMS). Through the transaction, LMS expands its existing exterior components business to include lighting technologies, advancing its position as an integrated supplier of exterior systems.

The acquired business generated approximately EUR 200 million in revenue in 2025 and employed around 1,500 people. Its product portfolio includes front and rear lighting, accent lighting, and illuminated grille and panel solutions. The business also brings expertise in LED, OLED, micro-LED and mini-LED technologies, as well as Matrix Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) systems.

The acquisition includes two manufacturing facilities in Moncalieri, Italy, and Kostrzyn nad Odrą, Poland, as well as two engineering centers in Rivoli, Italy, and Ostrava, Czech Republic. Going forward, these sites will serve as the foundation for the European lighting operations within the LMS and Amaneos organization.

For LMS, the acquisition extends its value chain beyond the production of exterior components. By combining exterior body components with front and rear lighting solutions, the company will be able to offer more highly integrated modules to automotive manufacturers. This approach is intended to reduce interfaces between individual components while integrating design and functional requirements more effectively.

Amaneos expects the integration to generate operational and commercial synergies, particularly in research and development, procurement, and manufacturing. Combining LMS’s existing activities with the acquired lighting capabilities is expected to strengthen the company’s market position in both the volume and premium segments while further expanding the group’s industrial platform.
