Lanxess is increasing its prices for adipic acid worldwide with immediate effect. The average increase amounts to EUR 150 per metric ton. The specialty chemicals company cites ongoing and cumulative cost increases as the reason for the adjustment. In particular, higher raw material and energy costs have resulted in growing cost pressure. According to the company, these developments could no longer be fully offset despite measures aimed at mitigating their impact. Adipic acid is primarily used as a chemical intermediate in the production of polyamides such as nylon. More information: lanxess.com |
