Greiner Extrusion now 100 percent owner of Simplas

The northern Italian flat die specialist Simplas has now become a full member of the international network of Greiner Extrusion. The Austrian supplier of extrusion lines, tools and complete systems for profile extrusion continues to grow in the plastic film and sheet extrusion segment and is strengthening its market presence.

Simplas and Greiner Extrusion have already been cooperating through a minority shareholding since 2018, which was transferred to a majority shareholding in mid-2020. The two companies have expanded and deepened their strategic partnership: in addition to expanding the global sales network and production capacities in Arcisate, Italy, they have set up their own service centres in Austria and China. On 24.11.2021, Greiner Extrusion became the 100 percent owner of Simplas.

There will be an orderly handover at the top of Simplas at the beginning of 2022: The long-standing Sales Director Marino Franceschina will succeed Michele Graglia as General Manager, who will continue as a senior advisor. Together with the Operations Manager, Massimiliano Terraneo, the product and service portfolio for film and sheet extrusion, coating and coating applications is to be further expanded internationally.
