NUGA AG (www.centricut.ch) is presenting at K 2007 further developed granulators in its compact CentriCut 44 slr range, that have been designed especially for demanding tasks in the granulation of PET bottles. The PET bottles are fed via a conveyor belt as loose bulk material in the form of entire or perforated bottles, material separated from bales or briquettes to the CentriCut granulator, where it is granulated into flakes. The rotor and stator blades consist of identical design, precisely fitting hardened sintered carbide metal plates that can be used in sets of eight and that have been especially developed further for use in the abrasive PET granulation process. They are characterised by long life with throughput of up to several hundred tonnes without the blades needing to be turned around. The PET bottles are forced via a horizontally arranged screw so that they are axially fed from inside to the granulator rotor. This leads to very good intake of he material stream, that is characterized by its large volume and low bulk density, as well as to fast delivery of the output material. The short residence time does not impose a thermal burden on the ground material, leads to low specific energy consumption, to low blade wear and finally to extremely high throughputs of up to 3,000 kg/h, depending on the type of PET bottle task and the geometry of the screen perforation that is used. The installed power rating for this amounts to 75 kW. Photo: CentriCut 44 slr for granulation of PET bottles K 2007, Düsseldorf, 24.-31. October 2007, Hall 9, Stand B11 |
