Autoneum: Two New Plants in China

Autoneum is expanding its production capacity in China with the construction of two new plants in Anhui Province. The facilities in Wuhu and Anqing are being built following several recently awarded contracts for various vehicle programs of the Chinese automaker Chery.

The larger of the two plants is being built in Wuhu and will have a production area of 20,000 square meters. A second facility with a production area of 5,000 square meters is being established in Anqing. Both plants are scheduled to begin operations in the second half of 2026 and will employ around 400 people in total.

The plants will manufacture a range of interior and acoustic components for passenger cars, including carpets, interior and exterior dash insulators, and encapsulation systems for electric motors. The products are designed for modern vehicle platforms and will be supplied for various Chery vehicle programs.

With the new plants, Autoneum is pursuing its strategy of supporting both international and Chinese vehicle manufacturers through local production capacities. Short delivery distances, close collaboration with customers, and the efficient industrialization of new products are intended to strengthen the company's competitiveness in the Chinese market.

China plays a central role in Autoneum's growth strategy. In 2025, the company acquired the Chinese suppliers Jiangsu Huanyu Group and Chengdu Yiqi-Sihuan Group. Both companies specialize in acoustic and thermal management solutions and maintain established business relationships with leading Chinese automotive manufacturers. These acquisitions expanded Autoneum's local development and production capabilities while broadening its customer base in China.

By further expanding its production network, Autoneum aims to strengthen its market position in Asia and, in line with its corporate strategy, increase the region's share of Group revenue over the medium term.
