Dow: Price Raise on Extruded Polystyrene Foam across Europe
|
Dow Chemical will raise prices for all Building & Construction STYROFOAM* EXTRUDED POLYSTYRENE products across Europe due to continued increases in raw materials. The current pricing of STYROFOAM products does not allow for sufficient margins due to continued increases in raw materials. Based on this situation, Dow is announcing a price increase across the European region for all Building and Construction STYROFOAM products. Effective January 2005, Dow Europe will increase prices by 10% for all STYROFOAM products. Further increases are anticipated if raw materials continue there upward trend. Advert “Pricing levels in 2004 have not compensated for the tremendous increase in raw material prices through out the second half of 2004, in addition industry forecast indicate that there will be continued upwards pressure on raw materials for extruded polystyrene foam for the balance of 2005” said Michael O’Connor, European Asset Manager for Building & Construction.
