Licharz: Oil filled cast polyamide for bearing applications for the food-machining industry

Oilamid® FG is a new, FDA-compliant, cast polyamide (nylon) from Licharz. Oilamid® FG is specially designed for the requirements of bearings and slider pads exactly as required by manufacturers in the food handling machine industry. Due to the special lubricants and additives embedded in the polymer matrix, the material achieves a constant lubrication during the lifetime of the component. As a result, the coefficient of friction is constantly low has minimal abrasion. Friction heat at the contact point is also minimised which increases the load capacity and sliding speed of the bearing parts. Oilamid® FG is wear resistant, electrically insulating and resistant against a wide range of oils, greases and cleaning agents. Furthermore the material is excellent for the absorption of vibration and machines easily.

Application areas for Oilamid® FG are mainly in the fields of machine and equipment building as well as in the drive and conveyor technology within the food industry. It is used as a base material for bushings, cam guides, slide- and guide strips, idler pulleys, gears and sprockets as well as chain guides and deflection rollers. Oilamid® FG is available in the colour blue as customized component parts or as semi finished engineering plastic in the shape of sheets, rods or tubes. On special request Oilamid® FG can be produced in the colour yellow or natural and / or as a customized monocast part.
