DuPont: Packaging & Industrial Polymers adjusts resin prices

DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers (P&IP, www.dupont.com) Europe, Middle East and Africa announces a price increase of 0.15 Euro/kg for all its grades of Appeel®, Bynel®, Elvaloy®, Fusabond®, Selar® PA, Surlyn® and Conpol® resins, effective June 15th 2006 or as customer contracts allow.

The reasons for this price increase are the sustained, record-high energy, raw material and transportation costs, which previous price adjustments have not been able to compensate. "Despite our best efforts, it is no longer possible for DuPont to absorb these additional costs and we therefore have to pass a further portion of the increases on to the value chain in order to ensure continuous supply of highquality products”, said Diego Boeri, regional director (EMEA), Ethylene Copolymers (ECP) at DuPont P&IP.
