Heyco: Automotive supplier builds second plant in the USA

The German automotive supplier Heyco is planning to build a second production plant for plastic components in the USA.

The Economic Development Agency of the State of North Carolina (EDPNC) recently announced this in a press release. According to the press release, Heyco's new injection moulding plant is to be built in the Apple Creek Corporate Center (ACCC) industrial park in Gaston County near Charlotte. Around 6,000 m² of production space and showrooms for high-quality injection moulded components are planned.

According to the press release, the US subsidiary Heyco-Werk USA will invest more than USD 12.75 million in the new site and create 34 jobs there. The plant in Gaston County will primarily supply assembly plants of BMW and other European vehicle manufacturers in the USA.

Heyco already produces injection moulded components in the USA at its Emporia site in the state of Virginia. The Group took over this plant four years ago from its former manufacturing partner Beach Mold and Tool Inc..

The Heyco Group is based in Remscheid, North Rhine-Westphalia, and produces metal and plastic components for the automotive industry. The company currently has a total of eight production sites in Germany, the Czech Republic, Ireland and the USA with around 1,250 employees.
