Evonik: Price Increases for Pigment Blacks and for Matting Agents
|
Evonik Industries´ Inorganic Materials Business Unit (www.evonik.com) announces a price increase for pigment blacks, effective for deliveries in Europe from February 1, 2008. Manufacturing costs of pigment blacks have been increasing continuously for some time, and feedstock costs are now at an all-time high. Evonik has taken all conceivable steps to offset these rising costs. However, these measures no longer suffice to absorb cost increases, which must now be passed on in part to all customers. Evonik Industries´ Inorganic Materials Business Unit will also increase the prices of their matting agents Acematt® globally. The price increase of 5% will be effective as of February 1st, 2008. Over the last years, Evonik Degussa has absorbed significantly rising costs, but is no longer able to withstand cost pressures caused by the rise in energy, raw materials, transportation and regulatory expenses. |
