Uniloy: Blow Molding Specialist Establishes New Branch in Malaysia

The US-based blow molding technology specialist Uniloy has announced the establishment of a new production facility in Penang, Malaysia. With this investment, the company is creating a regional base for the ASEAN market and continuing its global expansion strategy. The Penang facility will manufacture shuttle blow molding machines based on a European design, built entirely from components sourced in Asia.

The first machine developed and produced locally, based on the all-electric UCS-27 series, is expected to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2026. Initial production orders are anticipated for the fourth quarter of 2026.

According to Uniloy CEO Gary Riley, the company is responding to the demand for locally manufactured machines and regional service with the new location. Customers in Southeast Asia have expressed a desire for machines with shorter lead times, local support, and competitive pricing. The factory in Malaysia is intended to meet these requirements in the future.

Uniloy Malaysia will manufacture machines built entirely in Asia and equipped with original components from the region. This aims to optimize cost structures and improve supply chain security. Additionally, local service offerings, spare parts supply, and training programs are planned. Target industries include, in particular, packaging for edible oils, lubricants, cosmetics, and personal care products.
