adapa: Capacity Expansion at Kempten Site

The adapa Group, a specialist in flexible packaging, is investing extensively in new equipment at several European sites. The goal is to expand production capacities and further develop the technological basis for recyclable, high-quality packaging solutions.

At the Kempten site, the company commissioned two new shrink film extrusion lines from the Canadian manufacturer Macro Engineering. The investment serves to expand capacities in shrink packaging technology, especially for EVOH-based, recycling-ready materials. One of the two lines is already in production, with the second expected to follow in January 2026.

In parallel, two new printing machines from Uteco – one flexographic and one gravure line – have been installed. The equipment enables printing in up to nine colors, using both reverse and surface printing processes. Additionally, they feature complete inline visual inspection and options for applying special varnishes or coatings, including on paper substrates.

Furthermore, as part of a group-wide modernization program, adapa is expanding its converting capacities with new slitting machines in its plants in Poland and the Netherlands. These measures aim for more efficient production and greater flexibility within the European manufacturing network.

According to Alena Maran, Head of Strategy and Marketing, adapa is pursuing the goal of strengthening long-term partnerships on a stable technological foundation and enhancing its ability to develop innovative, recycling-ready packaging solutions with these investments.
