Sumitomo (SHI) Demag: Realignment of European Trade Fair Activities

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag looks back on a successful K 2025 and declares the trade fair to be the central platform of the international plastics industry. At the same time, the company announces a strategic realignment of its trade fair presence in Europe, with an increased focus on direct customer events and regional trade fairs.

As an expression of the new strategic focus, the company intends to forgo its own exhibition stand at Fakuma 2026. The freed up resources are to be specifically invested in the development and presentation of new technologies. The German market remains of central importance to the company. Future trade fair appearances are to be more closely linked to the innovation cycles of research and development in order to present new solutions ready for the market with maximum attention.

Instead, smaller, targeted formats and regional trade fairs will be increasingly utilized. The plan is to establish new event concepts that enable a more personal exchange. Teams in Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, France, and Great Britain are preparing local networking events in cooperation with partners from the fields of automation, technology, and materials. In parallel, the presence at regional trade fairs such as Swiss Plastics Expo (Switzerland), FIP and Pharmapack (France), Interplas (UK), Plastpol (Poland), Samuplast (Italy), MSV (Czech Republic), and Kuteno (Germany) is to be expanded.
