GreenDot is expanding its portfolio in mechanical plastics recycling through the integration of the Italian compounder Forplast. With this move, the company is strengthening its production base for high-quality recyclates, particularly rHDPE for bottle-to-bottle applications as well as rPP. The acquisition follows strategic changes in the ownership structure and planned investments announced by GreenDot in July 2025. By incorporating Forplast, GreenDot is further expanding its position in the recycling of plastic packaging waste from households. The aim is to increase the availability of high-quality recyclates for reuse in packaging and thus contribute to the European circular-economy requirements and the recycling quotas defined under the PPWR by 2030. GreenDot CEO Laurent Auguste emphasizes that Forplast’s long-standing technical expertise—especially in 100-percent bottle-to-bottle solutions—strengthens the group’s capabilities. GreenDot intends to support Forplast in realizing its growth potential and expanding its market presence. Forplast CEO Paolo Aimi highlights the advantage of being part of a larger European corporate group, enabling access to additional volumes of PCR plastic waste while contributing the company’s own technical know-how to group activities. Founded in 1971, Forplast has a long tradition in compounding and in the production of PE pipes. More information: green-dot.com, www.forplastgroup.com |
