Mocom: Flame-retardant high-performance polyamides now also available with recycled material

Mocom has expanded its portfolio with the new "Altech PA FR" and "Altech PA ECO FR" product families. These flame-retardant, glass fiber-reinforced polyamide compounds are designed for demanding applications in the electrical and electronics industry, electromobility, and household appliances, combining high mechanical performance with enhanced sustainability features.

According to the company, the new compounds achieve the UL94 V0 flammability classification and a Glow Wire Ignition Temperature (GWIT) of 775 °C. The materials are also formulated without halogens or PFAS, supporting compliance with current and future regulatory requirements for electrical and electronic applications.

The product families have been developed for applications requiring high standards of fire protection, electrical safety, and processability. At the same time, customized color options enable adaptation to specific design and branding requirements. Mocom offers the materials worldwide to support international development and production sites.

With the "Altech PA ECO FR" grades, the company has added more sustainable variants containing up to 35% recycled material. According to Mocom, this can reduce the Product Carbon Footprint by up to 65% compared with comparable virgin-material solutions. Despite the recycled content, the materials deliver near-prime performance and are suitable for technically demanding applications.
