United Flexibles: Acquisition of film manufacturer Fol-Pol

United Flexibles, the corporate group controlled by Polish investment firm TEP Capital, has strengthened its position through the acquisition of plastic film manufacturer Fol-Pol.

In a press release issued in June, TEP Capital announced that United Flexibles had acquired 100% of the shares in Fol-Pol. However, no details were disclosed regarding the financial value of the transaction or other terms of the deal.

Fol-Pol is headquartered in Kutno, north of Łódź, and manufactures single- and multi-layer polyethylene films as well as a range of flexible packaging products. The company supplies customers in Poland and across Europe and most recently generated annual sales of more than PLN 70 million (EUR 16 million).

With the acquisition of Fol-Pol, TEP Capital and United Flexibles are continuing their consolidation strategy in the Polish flexible plastic packaging market. TEP first acquired film producer Nicator Films, based in Karczew near Warsaw, in 2021. Four years later, following the acquisition of industry peer ELA Folie in Ostrów, the company established the United Flexibles group.

Commenting on the transaction, Tomasz Woźniak, Managing Partner at TEP Capital, said: "The acquisition of Fol-Pol marks another important step in the development of United Flexibles. Fol-Pol brings many years of experience, technological expertise and a product portfolio that complements those of Nicator Films and ELA Folie. We remain committed to our strategy of consolidating the flexible packaging market and see significant potential for the group's continued growth."

United Flexibles is headquartered in Warsaw and, prior to the acquisition, generated combined annual sales of around PLN 400 million (EUR 93 million) through Nicator Films and ELA Folie.
