Syensqo: Partnership with Bucci Composites to Accelerate High-Volume Production of Composite Materials for the Automotive Industry

Syensqo and Bucci Composites have entered into a partnership to advance the high-volume production of fiber-reinforced composite components for the automotive industry. As part of the agreement, Bucci Composites has licensed Syensqo's proprietary Double Diaphragm Forming (DDF) technology. In addition, the two companies will collaborate on qualifying innovative material solutions for use by automotive manufacturers.

Double Diaphragm Forming is an automated forming process for fiber-reinforced composites designed to enable the production of high-quality components in a single-step process. By reducing cycle times, simplifying logistics, improving component accuracy, and integrating into existing manufacturing infrastructure, the technology is expected to lower overall production costs.

The partnership will focus on structural vehicle components, body panels, battery enclosures, and other applications where lightweight design and cost-effective high-volume manufacturing are becoming increasingly important.

By combining Syensqo's proprietary DDF technology with its prepreg systems, the two companies aim to accelerate the production of composite automotive components and establish the conditions for cost-efficient manufacturing at higher production volumes.
