Belgian hose manufacturer Plastiflex has commissioned a new production plant in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The site is focused on hose systems for non-medical applications and is intended in particular to expand the group’s production capacities in Asia. The plant manufactures hoses for applications including major household appliances, small electrical appliances, industrial equipment and swimming pool technology. According to the company, construction and modernization of the plant were completed within four months. The production equipment has been installed and the supply of raw materials has been established. Commissioning of the equipment was completed in May 2026, after which Plastiflex produced the first finished hoses. The plant is operated by a local Malaysian team. With the additional capacity, Plastiflex aims to supply its customers in Asia increasingly from within the region and expand its activities outside the medical technology business. With the new site, Plastiflex now operates a total of twelve production plants, according to the company. In Asia, the group also operates plants in Suzhou and Dongguan, China, in addition to Johor Bahru. Further production sites are located in Europe and North America. The company is headquartered in Paal-Beringen, Belgium, which is home to functions including corporate management, finance, research and development, and product management.
