Evertis: New PET film line increases capacity in Mexico to over 44,000 tonnes

PET film manufacturer Evertis is expanding production capacity at its Monterrey site in Mexico. According to a post by the company on LinkedIn, a new COEX-CAST production line is scheduled to be installed there in the third quarter of 2026. The line is designed to manufacture particularly thin flexible PET films.

According to Evertis, the new line will add more than 9,600 tonnes of annual capacity, bringing the site’s total production capacity to more than 44,000 tonnes per year. The investment is intended in particular to expand the company’s offering of flexible PET films for the North American market.

In connection with the investment, Evertis highlights packaging solutions that enable downgauging and support the use of recycled material. The PET films produced are also intended to be compatible with existing PET recycling streams.

The expansion in Mexico complements the company’s growth plans in the US. In February 2025, Evertis announced the construction of a new plant in Columbia, South Carolina. The facility is initially expected to have an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes, with a second expansion phase set to increase total capacity to 60,000 tonnes in 2028.
