Barlog Plastics GmbH will present its “Eco-Consulting” service offering at Fakuma 2026. The consulting approach is designed to help companies take resource consumption and the product carbon footprint of plastic components into account as early as the development stage. The offering covers material selection, component design, process simulation and carbon footprint calculation.

According to the company, “Eco-Consulting” comprises four coordinated modules. “Eco-Selection” supports the selection of plastics based on technical, economic and environmental criteria. “Eco-Design” examines components with regard to material use, repairability and recyclability, employing methods including topology optimization and injection molding simulation.

“Eco-Simulation” analyzes manufacturing processes with the aim of reducing energy consumption and cycle times. The “Eco-Calculator” compares the effects of different materials, component geometries and process variants on the product carbon footprint. This is intended to quantify the environmental impacts of different development options before series production begins.
