Polymer-Service PSG GmbH is presenting material solutions based on PPSU and modified PPE for drinking water applications at Fakuma 2026. This comes against a backdrop of stricter European hygiene requirements and lower limits for lead in drinking water. For pressure-bearing fittings and plumbing connectors, Youju offers “Paryls” PPSU F1550, a high-performance plastic, as a potential alternative to brass. The material offers corrosion and hot-water resistance, high impact strength and long-term pressure resistance. As part of the European qualification process, long-term internal pressure tests in accordance with EN ISO 9080 are currently underway at SKZ in Germany, among other testing activities. For pumps, impellers, diffusers, housings and other water-carrying components, LG Chem offers modified PPE compounds under the “Lumiloy” brand. The materials combine low water absorption, dimensional stability and hydrolysis resistance. The glass-fibre-reinforced grades “Lumiloy” GP2200K and GP2300K contain 20% and 30% glass fibre, respectively. Selected grades hold drinking water approvals such as NSF/ANSI 61, WRAS, KTW and ACS. Material selection depends on component geometry, temperature, pressure loads and regulatory requirements. Polymer-Service PSG provides support with material selection, documentation, simulation, sampling and qualification. Polymer-Service PSG GmbH is a distributor and technical consulting partner for engineering and high-performance plastics, thermoplastic elastomers and additives. The company is based in Seevetal and has been part of the W&S Group since 2016. Fakuma 2026 Friedrichshafen, Germany 12–16 October 2026 Hall B5, Stand 5209 More information: |
