Mold-Masters: New Plant in India Consolidates Manufacturing, Engineering and Service

Hot runner manufacturer Mold-Masters has consolidated its operations in India at a newly built facility in Coimbatore, in the state of Tamil Nadu. The 12,350-square-metre plant replaces three previous locations and offers nearly four times the floor space of the company's former facilities in India. Engineering, manufacturing, sales and customer service are now brought together at a single site.

At the Coimbatore facility, the company manufactures hot runner systems, temperature controllers and related components for plastics processors in India and neighbouring markets. The site also provides support to the company's manufacturing facilities worldwide, including design engineering, computer-aided engineering (CAE) and CAM programming.

Regional service operations are also coordinated from the new facility. Services include local spare parts supply, repairs, cleaning and refurbishment, as well as on-site technical support at customer facilities. The consolidation is intended to improve coordination between engineering, manufacturing and customer service, shorten response times and reduce equipment downtime.

Mold-Masters has been operating in India for nearly 20 years. Details of the investment volume, the number of employees at the new facility and its production capacities have not been disclosed. The company's Indian subsidiary operates under the name Mold-Masters DME India Private Limited. Mold-Masters, part of Hillenbrand, Inc., is headquartered globally in Georgetown, Ontario, Canada.
