Specialty chemicals company LANXESS AG (www.lanxess.com) is to increase its prices worldwide for rubber chemicals effective April 1, 2008. The Rubber Chemicals business unit sees itself forced to take this step because the costs for raw materials, transport and energy have risen significantly. Depending on the region, the price increase per metric ton will comprise up to EUR 350 / USD 700 for vulcanization accelerators (Vulkacit), up to EUR 150 / USD 600 for antioxidants (Vulkanox), up to EUR 250 / USD 850 for antiozonants (Vulkazon) and up to EUR 500 / USD 750 for plasticizers (Vulkanol). LANXESS rubber chemicals are mainly used in the automotive industry for the manufacture of tires, hoses and profiles, and in the production of drive elements and other technical rubber goods. |
