As of July 1st, 2008, BASF (www.basf.com) will be raising its prices in Europe for Terluran® (ABS) Commodities and Styrolux® (SBC polymer) by 100 Euro per metric ton. At the same time the GMP (gross market price) for Polystyrene will be increased by 50 Euro per metric ton. These measures are due to the unprecedented increases in the cost of raw materials, energy and transportation. The three types of plastic Terluran, Styrolux and Polystyrene are employed in household and office products, in the electrical realm and communication technology, for cosmetics and in the packaging sector. |
