Proto Labs: Expanding in Europe - Opening a French Sales and Technical Support Office

Proto Labs (www.protomol.co.uk), also known as Protomold, announced the opening of its French office, based in Le Bourget du Lac, in the region of Savoie, north of Chambéry. "Our success with the Proto Labs office in Germany gives us great confidence that a similar investment in France will help us better serve French design engineers wishing to take advantage of our services," says John Tumelty, MD Proto Labs, Ltd. Site selection and recruitment of key staff for the French Proto Labs office is complete and the new office is up-and-running. Advert Proto Labs comprises two services, Protomold and First Cut. Protomold has specialized in production of prototypes and low volume production of injection-moulded parts with aluminium-forms. Customers get injection-moulded parts or prototypes in a matter of days at a fraction of the cost of conventional methods. First Cut provides a service dedicated to producing plastic prototype parts CNC machined directly from solid resin and aluminium. Customers upload their CAD models to receive a detailed cost and manufacturing analysis. At the same time’s software automatically produces the tool paths and programs the CNC machines, removing NRE time from the process.
