Effective 1st December, Rapid Granulator AB (www.rapidgranulator.se), the Swedish-based manufacturer in plastics granulation technology, has signed up J.L. Goor Ltd, Monktown, Dublin, and PL Machinery Services & Sales Ltd, Barton-Le-Clay, Bedfordshire, as its sole distributors for the Republic of Ireland/Northern Ireland and the mainland UK. According to Rapid Group Marketing Manager, Bengt Rimark: “It’s great to see two new distributors in the Irish and UK markets. In spite of the current economic turmoil, the plastics industry in both countries remains strong and innovative, and with these recent appointments we will be able to further expand our footprint in both countries. Both J.L. Goor and PL Machinery Services & Sales have years of experience in the plastics processing industry and with Rapid’s products, which will guarantee the best possible service and support for the users and operators of our granulators.” PL Machinery Services & Sales was formed in December 2005 by Neal Northwood (Sales Director) and David Sams (Technical Director) when they took over from PL Plastics Machinery Ltd and their former employer Mr Peter Biro. Together, they represent over 40 years of experience in the plastics machinery business. “PL has been working with Rapid Granulator for years,” says Neal Northwood. “Our customers have always stressed how happy they are with the reliability, superior design and build quality of their Rapid granulators. Our service & support facilities are in place to help our customers get the best from their machinery. PL Machinery offer a complete range of supported ancillary equipment and now that we have been appointed Rapid’s exclusive distributor in Great Britain, we aim to grow our business further.” Founded in 1982, J.L. Goor Ltd is a leading supplier of equipment to the plastics processing industry in Ireland. Further, through its sister company J.L. Goor Materials, it is one of the largest distributors of polymer raw materials in the Irish market, making it the number one supplier for the plastics industry in Ireland. “We’ve been working with Rapid Granulator for many years and we’re proud to be appointed their main distributor for the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland ,” says Louis Goor, CEO of J.L.Goor Ltd. “Our company also represents a number of other industry leaders, including Fanuc Roboshot injection moulding machines, Piovan handling equipment and Star Automation robots.
