Gammaflux Europe: Operator-friendly touchscreen monitor for LEC controllers

Simple set-up and clearly arranged data pages – that’s the benefit of the new Gammaflux touchscreen monitor for LEC controllers; A: Controller in alarm status, B: Bar graph for heating zone temperature, C: process variables for the control zones, D: Overview and setting of groups, E: Alarm graphics display, F: Main page: set and changing of required temperatures, selecting automatic and manual status, G: Menu for saving mould setting data, H: Overview: status of all control zones - (Illustration: Gammaflux, Wiesbaden/Germany).
Making its first trade fair appearance on the exhibition stand of Gammaflux Europe GmbH, Wiesbaden/Germany, at Fakuma 2012 will be an operator-friendly touchscreen monitor for the easy set-up and operation of Gammaflux’s LEC range of hot-runner controllers, which are capable of monitoring up to 24 hot runner zones. The easy-to-read, high-contrast 7-inch display features different graphics with information on the current operating status of both the controller and the hot-runner system. A USB interface permits the external storage of a complete back-up of the system. A network interface card permits retrofitment of the touchscreen monitor to all existing LEC controllers. If required, the touchscreen may be mounted remotely, on the side of the injection moulding machine, for example. This new touchscreen monitor, which is already available for delivery, is a low-cost alternative to a complete controller set-up with the full complement of Gammaflux software.

The colour touchscreen gives access to eight screen pages. The clearly structured main page enables the operator to set the required temperatures for the control zones quickly and reliably. Here it is possible to group together any hot runner zones of identical configuration, e.g. nozzles in a multi-cavity mould. The main page is also used for selecting on/off, automatic and manual status.

The other screen pages furnish information on the hot runner system and its operating status. The alarm screen is of central importance, for it shows at a glance whether all hot runner zones are operating at the required temperature, or in which zones the temperature deviates, or whether any of the thermocouples or heating elements are defective. A bar-graph screen shows the actual temperatures of the heating zones, while a data screen indicates the momentary data for the individual control zones: current, voltage, heat output in watts and in a percentage of the rated output.

Visitors to the Gammaflux stand at Fakuma (A7-7311 in Hall A7) will be able to see for themselves how easy it is to set up a 24-zone LEC controller with the new touchscreen monitor and how quickly the data graphs furnish an overview of the operating status of both the controller and the injection mould.

A further highlight of the Gammaflux presentation will be the new, space-saving and low-cost G24 Controller, which is particularly easy to operate. The tried and tested controllers of the TTC Series for up to 192 control zones in one single control block will likewise be on show, as will the available software components for all controllers, e.g. Mold Monitor for preventive diagnostics or Mold Doctor for troubleshooting and correcting defects in hot-runner moulds.
