The fifth edition of the SolVin Award for PVC Innovation this year will celebrate the creative minds behind technological advances in fields ranging from health care to construction, manufacturing to road safety, gardening to electronics. For this edition, 78 projects were entered in competition. A five-member independent jury has nominated 17 of them for the awards in three categories: Innovation, Industrial Design and Recycling, as noted in the list below. The projects show the latest trends in vinyl as well as the sector’s sustainable development. Better-insulated windows, natural fiber composites, higher integration of functionalities, more energy-efficient piping systems and greater use of recycled materials caught the jury’s attention. “It’s exciting to see PVC’s innovative reach,” said Filipe Constant, Managing Director of SolVin. “And it’s inspiring to see our sector striving for greater sustainability with new ideas in recycling, reducing the global impact on the environment during the life cycles of our products.” Nominees in the innovation category
