The German CABB Group has sold its US subsidiary Jayhawk Fine Chemicals to Anupam Rasayan India Ltd. Both companies announced at the end of February the completion of the transaction agreed in December last year. Accordingly, Anupam Rasayan now controls 100% of the shares in Jayhawk Fine Chemicals. The financial volume of the deal amounted to a total of around USD 150 million. Jayhawk Fine Chemicals is based in Galena in the US state of Kansas and primarily produces additives for epoxy, polyimide and hybrid resins, which are used, among other things, in the electronics industry, the energy and infrastructure sector and other industries. The company has modern production capacities, pilot plants and R&D facilities designed for complex chemical processes such as halogenation, oxidation, nitration and phosphorus chemistry. According to Anupam Rasayan, Jayhawk generated EBITDA of USD 15 million from revenues of USD 78 million in the 2024 financial year. With this acquisition, Anupam Rasayan is expanding its presence in the USA and positioning itself even closer to strategic customers in developed markets along the value chain. The company, based in Surat in the western Indian state of Gujarat, is one of the leading manufacturers of specialty chemicals in India with six production sites. For CABB, CEO Tobias Schalow stated: “We are pleased to announce the final sale of Jayhawk to Anupam Rasayan. This step supports our strategic realignment from industrial applications and electronics toward specialty chemicals and higher-margin segments such as life science and pharma.” CABB, headquartered in Sulzbach in the German state of Hesse (formerly Clariant Acetyl Building Blocks), was formed more than 20 years ago through the merger of several business units of the chemical companies Clariant and Hoechst. As a CDMO, the company operates five production sites in Germany, Switzerland, Finland and China and mainly produces precursors and intermediates as well as fine chemicals and custom active ingredients for the crop sciences, life science and performance materials sectors. In the 2024 financial year, the CABB Group generated total revenues of EUR 604 million. More information: |
