Nowofol: New production line for mono-axially oriented Polypropylene films

The setting up of a further film production line for the manufacture of mono-axially oriented Polypropylene films and thus an increase of NOWOFOL´s (www.nowofol.de) capacity to 15,000 tonnes per annum have recently been decided from the supervisory board and the executive board of NOWOFOL Kunststoffprodukte GmbH & Co. KG. The start-up of the new film line is scheduled end of this year to accommodate the increasing demands. With this new line NOWOFOL is setting up a further milestone in the field of flat film extrusion.

NOWOFOL Kunsttoffprodukte GmbH & CO. KG in Siegsdorf (District Traunstein/Bavaria) is one of the world largest manufacturer of high-strength, longitudinal (monoaxially) oriented and non-oriented flat film out of Polypropylene, Polyethylene and other thermoplastics.

At present the annual production amounts approximately 12,000 tons. The broad variety of applications covers packaging, technical tapes, tear tapes, carrying handles and release liners as well as special films for different industries. From roofing membranes over die cutting applications, loudspeakers, sports articles, film labels, banding systems, decorative ribbons, up to specialities like transfer printing labels or flexible pipes. The products are supplied to numerous customers, like packaging manufacturers and film converters over the transportation industry, the cable industry and CD manufacturers up to airplane producers.

NOWOFOL, founded 1971 from the companies Brückner and Nordwolle, is today owned by 22 private partners. From the turnover, which reached approximately 37 million € in the year 2007, about 80 per cent go into the export. The films are supplied to 63 countries.
