Henkel: Production Site Expansion in Brandon Completed

The German Henkel Group has completed the expansion of the production facility for its Henkel Adhesive Technologies division at its Brandon site in South Dakota, USA.

According to the press release, the group invested a total of approximately $30 million in Brandon to expand the capacity for adhesives and thermal management materials under the Loctite and Bergquist brands. This doubled the plant's production area to 6,500 square meters and included the installation of new mixing equipment, among other upgrades. According to the announcement, Henkel is thus responding to the continuously rising demand in the e-mobility and electronics sectors.

Group manager Bjoern Jackisch stated: "This expansion is a significant milestone in Henkel’s journey to support the long-term growth of the electric vehicle and electronics market with sustainable, high-performance solutions. Our investment in Brandon underscores our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and strong partnerships with our customers and local authorities. We are proud to strengthen our presence in North America and contribute to the future of mobility."

Henkel commissioned the Brandon plant in 2009 and twelve years later decided on a further expansion of the site near Sioux Falls. The corresponding construction work then began in September 2022. Currently, Henkel Adhesive Technologies employs more than 100 people at the Brandon plant. Meanwhile, the group division opened a center of expertise for the development of new materials for electric vehicle batteries at the Madison Heights site in Michigan, USA, at the beginning of September.
