The Swedish Nefab Group is further expanding its capacities for the production of plastic packaging in the USA. According to a press release, Nefab's US subsidiary PolyFlex opened a new production center at its McMinnville location in the state of Tennessee at the end of September. The complex, totaling $137,000 \, m^2$, is intended to function as a hub for the deep drawing of thick-walled plastic packaging and is equipped with modern thermoforming and extrusion systems for this purpose. Furthermore, the thermoforming capacities of the PolyFlex location in Morrison (Tennessee) are also to be relocated to McMinnville by the end of this year. In addition, the new complex will have equipment for recycling plastic packaging. No details were given in the announcement regarding the exact capacities of the new facilities in McMinnville. Nefab and PolyFlex also provided no information on the amount of the investments associated with the project. However, an announcement from the Department of Economic and Community Development of the Tennessee state government puts the investment at the location at $8.3$ million USD. As a result, approximately 60 new jobs are also expected to be created. Nefab Manager Patric Vestlund explained: "The McMinnville complex represents a strategic investment in high-performance thermoforming and sustainable plastic manufacturing. By integrating modern extrusion, thermoforming, and recycling capacities, we are expanding our ability to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient solutions while supporting circular economy initiatives." The Nefab Group is a global supplier of optimized packaging and logistics solutions for complete supply chains in various industrial sectors. The Group is headquartered in Jönköping in southern Sweden and employs almost 5,000 people across numerous locations in 38 countries. PolyFlex, based in Farmington Hills near Detroit in the US state of Michigan, has been controlled by Nefab since 2023. This summer, the Group strengthened its position by acquiring the Spanish plastic processor Plasticos Flome (see plasticker news from 06.08.2025). The annual turnover of the Nefab Group was recently about $10.3$ billion SEK ($941$ million EUR).
