The Wirthwein Group is investing around 3.5 million euros in expanding its building and production infrastructure at its headquarters in Creglingen. According to the company, the aim of these measures is to strengthen the site as part of internal corporate restructuring and to prepare for the takeover of additional series production operations.

In October 2025, construction began on a new tool storage hall and a covered logistics area. The investment is expected to create around 35 new jobs by 2027.

Relocation of Production Volumes to Creglingen
As part of group-wide consolidation efforts, major series production operations are being relocated to Creglingen. These include automated manufacturing processes involving robotics, the use of large injection molding tools weighing up to 25 tons, as well as assembly work on and off the machines. The daily logistics volume is expected to rise to around 1,600 pallets of finished goods. The expansion measures primarily serve to optimize in-house logistics and tool storage.

New Tool Storage Facility with 700 Square Meters of Space
The toolmaking department at the Creglingen site is considered a technological core area of the company. Around 40 specialists manufacture injection molding tools for series production there. To improve the efficiency of tool storage and logistics, a new 700-square-meter tool warehouse is being built. The existing storage area will in future be used for new and relocated production lines.

Covered Logistics Area for Empty Containers and Finished Goods
At the same time, a 1,600-square-meter roofed area is being constructed to provide weather-protected storage for empty containers and to serve as an interim storage space for picked goods.

Chief Technical Officer Holm Riepenhausen emphasized the strategic importance of the project: by 2027, Creglingen will be one of the group’s main investment priorities. In addition to the construction projects, machinery and operating equipment will also be modernized. Chairman of the Supervisory Board Marcus Wirthwein highlighted that the company is reaffirming its long-term commitment to its headquarters through this initiative.

The Wirthwein Group employs around 2,700 people worldwide, about ten percent of whom are trainees in Germany. The group comprises 22 companies—19 subsidiaries of Wirthwein SE and two independent companies in the Interior Design business segment. Production sites are located in Germany, Poland, the USA, China, Spain, and Turkey. Its business sectors include Mobility, Rail Infrastructure, New Energy, Home Appliance, Medical, and Interior Design. In 2024, the group achieved sales of 466 million euros.
