Technotrans: FuzzyControl controller stabilizes injection molding processes through self-optimizing temperature control

Technotrans has introduced FuzzyControl, a new controller for mold temperature control in injection molding, which is based on a dynamic, self-optimizing fuzzy logic. The goal is to increase process stability, especially under demanding conditions, and to avoid temperature fluctuations which can lead to rejects and increased energy requirements.

The controller continuously analyzes the control system (the controlled process), detects deviations, and automatically adjusts its parameters. According to Technotrans, this distinguishes it from conventional PID controllers, which often reach their limits in complex applications such as long hose lines, narrow mold cross-sections, or varying process parameters. FuzzyControl is designed to prevent typical temperature overshoot, shorten control times, and precisely maintain the setpoint.

According to the company, the solution works without manual readjustment and does not require expert knowledge for parameterization. This is intended to facilitate operation, reduce personnel-intensive effort, and increase process reliability. The constant temperature control thus supports consistent component quality, reduces material rejects, and contributes to the reduction of energy consumption and operating costs.
