At Fakuma 2026, pal plast GmbH will present a new range of engineering compounds and recompounds with high recycled-content levels. Key exhibits will include highly filled PA 66 materials, PC and PC/ABS recompounds containing post-consumer recyclate (PCR), and new electrically conductive grades based on PS and ABS.The materials are being developed for applications in which mechanical performance, dimensional stability and reliable processing must be maintained despite a high proportion of secondary raw materials. Highly filled PA 66 with recycled carbon fibers The company's Fakuma portfolio will include highly filled PA 66 compounds, among them formulations reinforced with recycled carbon fibers. According to pal plast, some of these materials achieve recycled-content levels of almost 100 percent. The grades are designed for applications requiring high stiffness and strength combined with relatively low weight. They are therefore aimed at areas in which high-performance materials based on virgin raw materials have traditionally been used. PC and PC/ABS recompounds with higher PCR content pal plast will also introduce new PC and PC/ABS recompounds containing well over 30 percent post-consumer recyclate. The company says transparent PC grades are available, while PC/ABS can also be supplied in a natural color. The materials are targeted, among others, at plastics processors and automotive suppliers that will increasingly need to incorporate defined and verifiable proportions of post-consumer recycled material into components. One driver is the new EU regulatory framework for vehicle circularity. Regulation (EU) 2026/1738, which has applied since August 13, 2026, requires plastics used in new vehicle types approved from September 1, 2032, to contain at least 15 percent by weight of recycled plastic from post-consumer plastic waste. For new vehicle types approved from September 1, 2036, the minimum share increases to 25 percent. At least 20 percent of the respective target must come from plastics recovered from end-of-life vehicles or from vehicle parts and components removed during the use phase. Conductive PS and ABS compounds pal plast is also expanding its portfolio of electrically conductive compounds. In addition to existing PP grades, the company plans to offer conductive materials based on PS and ABS, with high recycled-content versions available on request. Potential applications include transport containers, trays and packaging for electrostatically sensitive electronic components. The materials are suitable for both injection molding and extrusion. Supporting closed-loop material concepts In addition to the new product developments, pal plast will present ongoing material projects at Fakuma 2026. The company also supports customers in developing closed-loop material systems. Its services include analyzing internal material flows, collecting and reprocessing production waste, identifying suitable recyclate sources and developing application-specific compounds. Materials are tested in the company's in-house laboratory. Under the motto “Circular. Now.”, pal plast describes circularity as the step-by-step integration of plastics collection, reprocessing and reuse into existing production processes.
