Arburg: Record turnover in the anniversary year 2006

For the fiscal year 2006, which was also the anniversary year “50 years of ARBURG injection moulding machines”, the consolidated turnover of Arburg GmbH + Co KG (www.arburg.com) and all national companies reached an historic peak: 363.4 million euros were achieved by the international Hehl Group. Of this amount, Arburg GmbH + Co KG accounted for 328.9 million euros. This means a real increase in terms of value of 23.1 percent compared with the prior-year result. The consolidated result increased by 18.4 percent in terms of value compared with 2005.

Arburg also made positive developments in the personnel field at national and international level: By 31 December 2006, a total of 77 new jobs had been created in comparison with one year previously.

Successful Allrounder Golden Edition
The new Allrounder Golden Edition machine series which was launched on the occasion of the anniversary in 2006, made a large contribution to the record result with 25 percent in terms of value of orders received. Due to the outstanding international market success, the Arburg management team decided, at the end of 2006, to continue offering the Allrounder Golden Edition machine series on the market and even to extend it.

Increased sales of electric machines
The contribution in terms of value to orders received made by the Alldrive electric machine series increased by two percent compared with the previous year. The electric machines thus achieved ten percent in 2006.

Success through innovation
In light of the best turnover result in the history of Arburg, the management team looks back with satisfaction on strategic decisions. So the introduction of the Allrounder Golden Edition machine series proved to be the optimal answer to the demand detected on the international market.

Nevertheless, despite this success, it is important to continue to invest in a positive future: Overall investments were again above the VDMA average in 2006.

The building of a new Customer Centre at the headquarters in Lossburg with completion planned for autumn 2008, also symbolises the positive development of Arburg and, at the same time, confirms a clear commitment to Germany as a production location.
