Arburg (www.arburg.com) is continuing to enhance and expand its electric Alldrive machine series in a logically consistent manner. At the 2009 Technology Days, visitors were be presented with two new sizes, which are a natural extension to the Allrounder A series at both ends of the size spectrum. This further broadens the range of applications for these energy-efficient electric machines, and makes the entire series even more flexible in its scope. Allrounder 270 A and 720 A now added to the range The new Allrounder 270 A is the smallest size in Arburg´s range of electric machines. This model has a distance between tie bars of 270 x 270 millimetres, a clamping force of 350 kN and size 70 injection unit with a maximum shot weight of 21 g of PS. At the upper end of the machine scale, customers will find the Allrounder 720 A, another new machine size. This model´s impressive specifications include: a maximum clamping force of 3,200 kN and a size 800 injection unit, which offers a maximum shot weight of 434 g of PS. With this machine, large moulds can now also be used on the Allrounder A. Electric, energy-efficient, precise The electric Allrounder A is now available in six sizes in all: 270 A, 370 A, 470 A, 520 A, 570 A and 720 A. One quality they all share is high cost efficiency in everyday use. The main axes, with servo-electric drive as standard, enable simultaneous movements and correspondingly short cycle times. The auxiliary axes can be moved electrically or hydraulically to suit requirements, providing low-cost and functional equipment alternatives for the respective application. A further advantage of these electric machines is their low energy consumption which, depending on the application, can be up to 50 % lower than that of a comparable hydraulic machine. Accordingly, all Alldrive machines also bear the Arburg "e²" energy-efficiency label. Flexible in operation High reproducibility and part quality are ensured by the excellent positioning accuracy of the electric movement axes. Incidentally, this technology significantly reduces noise emissions. What´s more, this important feature also enables quick and precise synchronous entry into the mould, further optimising cycle times. Finally, short dry cycle times also contribute to the shorter cycles of the Allrounder A. An even wider range of applications The expansion of the Allrounder A series in the form of the Allrounder 720 A provides customers with larger installation dimensions for more complex moulds. At the other end of the spectrum, the Allrounder 270 A, with its small size 70 injection unit, is especially suitable for the production of small and micro-components. With these two new machines, Arburg has expanded the Alldrive series at both ends of the clamping force spectrum, while also ensuring maximum quality. As a result, Arburg electric injection machines now boast an even broader range of applications, for production that is both highly precise and energy efficient, and therefore promises long-term cost effectiveness.
