Buss UK Ltd., Stalybridge, Cheshire, opened early in 2008 as a service and distribution centre for clients of Buss AG (www.busscorp.com). In line with the Buss philosophy “Think globally – act locally” this new centre provides BUSS customers in the UK and Ireland with fast and efficient support for their compounding systems, including inspection and maintenance, overhaul and modernization. These activities will now be expanded to benefit BUSS customers in neighbouring north European countries and also provide service and support for third-party products, in particular compounding line components. This modern service centre with about 200 m2 floor area incorporates office facilities for customer service and administration, workshops with a comprehensive range of tooling and equipment, and personnel with many years of BUSS experience. Customers can also have components and machinery fully overhauled or repaired locally with fast turnaround. The present team comprises John Collins and Andrew Yeardley, who have 45 years of combined experience in BUSS compounding systems service and support. They are assisted by a service engineer and an employee for bookkeeping and commercial duties. Whilst responsibility for new machine sales in the UK and Ireland remains with Buss AG under Colin Richardson, Buss UK pro-actively supports this area of the business in addition to its main activities. Buss AG, Pratteln, Switzerland, is an independent producer of compounding and processing systems for the plastics industry and for special applications in the food industry and aluminium production. Per December 31, 2007 BUSS employed 215 people worldwide with annual sales of CHF 73.5 million (about EUR 45 million) |
