Degussa Strengthens Worldwide Marketing of PEEK with Sales Partnerships

Degussa AG (www.degussa-hpp.com), has further strengthened its marketing activities for polyetheretherketone (PEEK). Three partnerships were formed in Europe to distribute and sell small quantities of the whole range of PEEK products traded under the name VESTAKEEP®. GRÄSSLIN KBS GmbH Kunststofftechnologie, Germany, will take charge of retail sales in Germany while Austria and Switzerland will be served by Dolder AG, Switzerland. LATI SpA, Italy, was enlisted as the marketing partner for Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. As does Degussa for its direct customers, all three companies also offer their customers technical support.

Larger quantities of VESTAKEEP® are marketed directly by Degussa. It makes use of its long proven structures for this purpose. In Europe, distribution is carried out through the Customer Service Center of the High Performance Polymers Business Unit in Marl. An online order management system is also available here. In NAFTA, the Degussa Corporation, Parsippany, USA assumes this function, while the central office for Asia/Pacific, except Japan, is Degussa China Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China. Japan is served by the Degussa joint venture Daicel-Degussa.

First of all VESTAKEEP® is offered in two viscosities as granules and powders. In addition three compounds based on these products are available. One compound contains 30% glass fibers (VESTAKEEP® GF30), the second has 30% carbon fibers (VESTAKEEP® CF30) while the third contains a combination of 10% carbon fibers, 10% graphite and 10% PTFE (VESTAKEEP® FC30).
