Battenfeld opens new sales company in Russia

From January 30th to February 2nd 2007 the annual trade fair Interplastica will open its doors again in Moscow. Battenfeld Injection Molding Technology (www.btg.battenfeld.com) has already successfully operated in the Russian market for a considerable time and has further strengthened its activities there during the last few years. At its booth No. FD 51, in Hall “Forum”, the Austrian machine manufacturer will present detailed information about cost-efficient and innovative concepts of modern injection molding from its extensive product range. Simultaneously, its newly established Russian sales company will open in January.

“Russia is an economic area with 145 million inhabitants and high growth rates, sometimes even in double figures, and is thus an extremely attractive market”, says Dr. Michael Judis, President and CEO of Battenfeld Injection Molding Technology. “We have already been very active in Russia for a number of years and built up a solid, continuous presence there. Opening our own sales subsidiary is now the logical next step on this path.”

The subsidiary of Battenfeld, OOO Battenfeld Injection Molding, will move into its premises on the grounds of the NOV Business Center in Moscow in January 2007. Moscow has been chosen as a location of strategic importance and a place that is particularly close to the customer base.

“In connection with the start-up of this subsidiary, we are planning a considerable increase in our local staff,” Filipovic Stanislav, Managing Director of the Russian sales company, explains. “In
addition to intensive counseling, we will substantially improve the quality of our local service in Russia. We think that it is very important to have our injection molding machines tailored to each customer’s needs. Thanks to our modular system, no customer needs to invest in optional extras that would exceed the dimensions of his manufacturing requirements. Our individual modules are multi-functional, and we can also supply equipment for any specialized injection molding process. Both the peripheral equipment and the automation equipment included in our product range are also extremely versatile. Our selling argument is quick and reliable delivery of top-quality products. Therefore, another step towards even better customer service is the establishment of a spare parts depot at the Moscow subsidiary. I believe we offer our customers optimal package deals with state-of-the-art machine technology, attractive financing terms and excellent service.”

The increasing use of plastic products has spread to nearly all industries in Russia. Here, the focus is particularly on consumer goods and related industries, such as packaging and household appliances. Of course another industry with high growth rates and a driving force for plastics processing in Russia is the automotive industry. At the Interplastica, Battenfeld Kunststoffmaschinen will present an application for the household appliance industry on a TM 210/1330. The mold will be supplied by BYTPLAST. In addition to the essential attributes of reliability and production safety, this machine series stands out by extreme user-friendliness. Moreover, the TM requires very little maintenance. The TM injection molding machine series is available in 11 sizes from 50 to 650 t, with injection units to match from 130 to 7700 and screw diameters ranging from 18 to 120 mm.
