Kautex Maschinenbau delivers fifteen blow molders for training center to Saudi Arabia

Late last year, Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH (www.kautex-group.com) was able to secure an order for fifteen KCC10 extrusion blow molders (photo) to be delivered to Saudi Arabia. For each machine, Kautex will also supply one blow mold each for a round and an oval bottle as well as for a round bottle with handle, making a total of 45 molds that will be delivered between February and April this year.

The machines will be installed in the new Higher Institute for Plastics Fabrication (HIPF) vocational training center, a joint project between Saudi Arabia and Japan. The HIPF will be officially opened in September 2007 and offers training opportunities for about 600 Saudi students and trainees in all fields of plastics processing, as well as servicing and maintenance of plastics machinery on a total area of 65,000 square meters.

All in all, the Institute will be equipped with 70 plastics processing machines. One of the training workshops will be exclusively dedicated to blow molding machinery. The KCC10 machines to be installed here will be equipped with a single parison head with a maximum die diameter of 50mm and with a 60mm extruder. The good access to the mold area makes these machines particularly valuable for training purposes, as does their equipment with the most advanced control engineering. The latter also enables users to comprise the new ergonomic Kautex Control Easy user interface based on Microsoft Windows and an industrial PC as well as the interconnection of all machine PCs via Ethernet. This helps the trainers to monitor what is happening on each machine. Access to all machine data further optimizes the training. And if the trainers themselves need help, the Kautex Service in Bonn not only offers remote maintenance via modem in close cooperation with the local agency MPT (Modern Plastics Technology) in Riyadh but also a 24/7 telephone hotline plus a local stock of spare parts.

When investing in the training center, the purchasers made a point of acquiring machines that are absolutely state of the art, a requirement easily met by the Kautex Maschinenbau KCC10.

Apart from supplying the machines, Kautex Maschinenbau will also train the Senior and Junior trainers. This training will extend beyond the KCC machines themselves to cover the entire field of extrusion blow molding, so that the Senior Trainers are enabled to provide a high quality training for the students. While the HIPF will initially be supervised by the Japanese, it is intended to hand it over to Saudi Arabian operators within a few years.
